Drug Uses

Fincar (Finasteride) is used to treat male pattern hair loss.

How to use

Take one tablet daily or as directed by your doctor. This drug may be taken with or without meals.
For maximum benefit, take Fincar regularly once a day. This drug usually must be taken regularly for 3 months for the benefits to be noticeable. Once treatment is stopped, any gain in hair quantity will be lost.

Drug Class and Mechanism

Fincar prevents the conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT) in the body. DHT is involved in the development of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and hair loss. This medication is used to treat symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in men with an enlarged prostate.

Missed Dose

If you miss a dose of Fincar and you are using it regularly, take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to you regular dosing schedule. Do not take 2 doses at once.

Storage

Store at room temperature away from sunlight and moisture.
